Marcel is a 4-time James Beard award-winner (for best chef of the Mid-Atlantic, best pastry chef, best baking and pastry book for his infamous "Death by Chocolate" and best single subject book for "The Burgermeisters").  His book, "Desserts to Die For" won a Julia Child Cookbook Award.  He has written 10 cookbooks (8 about desserts).

Marcel Desaulniers, award-winning chef and author of Death by Chocolate, opened MAD about Chocolate April 2012. Renowned for his generous and gooey cookies, Double MAD brownies, and the beloved savory cheesecake, Marcel also offers lunch, wine and a variety of MAD made chocolate candies and seasonally-inspired confections. 

 
All can be enjoyed in the art-filled cafe or taken out.

MAD about Chocolate is located in the heart of Williamsburg, within a block of the College of William & Mary and Colonial Williamsburg's Merchants Square.
