Co-owners Marcel and Connie Desaulniers opened MAD about Chocolate on April 14, 2012.  This was after Marcel spent two very quiet years in semi-retirement (make that "too very quiet" years)  following the sale of his restaurant, The Trellis, to David Everett of Blue Talon Bistro and Dog Street Pub fame.   Maybe Marcel missed the fast pace of self-employment in the foodservice industry, but our guess is he also missed the chocolate.  He now fixes a daily Hot Pot of fresh market ingredients, and he oversees the creation and production of some of the most amazing chocolate on the East Coast.

Connie, an artist who once owned a marketing business, jumped on the MAD bandwagon.  MAD about Chocolate supplies the best of all of her worlds:  she was integrally involved in the design of the cafe, she oversees the "MAD Sales Squad" and the marketing, her art is on the walls, and being at MAD about Chocolate is like throwing a party every day.

Connie and Marcel have been married for 35 years and share a love for food, art, travel, people, parties and wine.  He likes her snake shoes, which she painted herself.  The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog. Peter piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. how many pecks of pickled peppers did peter piper pick?  Why did he do it?  I do not know.  Go ask kyour Dad.
